Oh but… please… can I have it? Please?
This may just be my favourite dress lust (after all the other ones I’m lusting after, of course). Will someone buy it for me?!

Feeling all Grecian today!
I thought today’s outfit deserved an outfit shot. Last time I wore this dress it was by Christmas do at work, but I decided this morning that through sheer determination I was going to make it work as daywear. The result was actually quite day appropriate thanks to my trusty platforms, and the addition of a casual tapestry belt. It worked with the tan too, the product of a weekend well spent!

Today was a lovely day. Gently hung over and oh-so-knackered, we lounged in the park for as log as time would allow, mooching and people watching, and generally enjoying the spectacular and totally unseasonal sunshine. Then it was time to go home, and I thought I would just pop into the Barnado’s on the way. You know, for a quick look around.
5 minutes later, I left with these. Astonishing vintage heels that I can’t walk in to save my life. Sheer, dramatic, eye catching. I simply couldn’t leave them behind. Aren’t they incredible?

- Sorry about the pose, and the nobbly knees!
I felt quite chuffed with my outfit today so thought I would share it with you guys. Most of my posts seem to be images and very little writing at the moment, so why change things?! Anyway, this was a homage to our new spring/summer – long may this mini “heat”wave carry on!

I have been doing a bit of shopping this week, but thankfully for my bank balance it has only been in my mind. Still, I am having a lot of trouble resisting this motley collection of lovely items, all of which are channelling my inner geek in the most utterly cool way!
Awesome – one day I want these on my wall – they are, after all, my favourite characters from any film, ever!
Star Trek earrings! The ultimate in geekery!
The current obsession that is keeping me up at night is a simple and unassuming iPhone app. But now technology meets crafting, with awesome results!
Science geekiness anyone? I love that science is used to express something so… delicious!
Yes, yes, I am currently still obsessed with The X Files. I still want the poster on my wall – but this cute necklace is a step in the right direction!
Finally, I love this ring. I like the way it looks, and in addition it is totally geeky and accurate in size!

Day 16 was a boring dress day, but then in the evening was our Christmas Do at work. We we heading to Warwick Castle, and the obligatory survey of the office girlies revealed that I had the perfect opportunity to dress up – and so I went for it!
The outfit was a long Grecian vintage dress, with Cleopatra hair, and I felt pretty all evening. The evening too was awesome, everyone at work being on top form. For us, that means being exceptionally dirty minded, and at the same time being very witty – I am sure our cynicism and taunting must have been wildly annoying for the castle staff! Even better, of course, was watching everyone be utterly hungover in work the next day – hilarious! Our hangovers must have funded McDonald’s for months to come, I have never seen such a large order!

Day 16

See the leopard print slip..
I added a leopard print slip under the thin fabric, and was really pleased with how it worked. Flirty, yet subtle at the same time. Yay!

You see this beauty? Delicate black lace, thick black satin band around the top? This is currently on sale for about £200, and is by D&G. The best thing? This skirt is pretty much an exact replica of a vintage Frank Usher lace skirt, which I just bought on eBay for a grand total of £3. Yup, less than a fiver, and in perfect condition too! Now, what to wear this lovely lovely item with?

I am feeling kind of like partying today. Not clubbing, but dancing, and eating canapés, and sipping blush champagne from tall fluted glasses. As such, this heavy winter ball gown is just the sort of thing that would help me to do that. Although I would still need to acquire the ballroom, the canapés, and the other guests. But hey. This stunning and unusual floral ball gown is £54.99, and has 6 days to go – and I wish it was mine!
Why Stockings are Sexy July 22, 2010

I think stockings are brilliant brilliant inventions. Not only are they practical, but they are incredibly incredibly sexy. Any man who gets a woman in stockings tends to think himself very lucky indeed, and I have been trying to work out exactly why this is?
(Image borrowed from here)
You see, a lot of the blogs I read are all about vintage fashion. The pin-up models and burlesque artists who inhabit these online spheres are svelte beauties, with porcelain skin and the type of long limbs that I could only dream of. And I have long legs! These are the girls who have taken stockings and suspenders from the realm of the tacky, into the downright sensual. But what is it about these part-function part-fashion accessories that make so many people weak at the knees?
- The suspense
- The look
Excuse the decidedly dodgy pun, but I think the suspense that accompanies stockings is one of the reason for their endless popularity. The fact that you can see the fabric clinging to the turn of an ankle, the swell of a calf, but that you can’t see any more than that. And then, from a teasing point of view, there is the sliding of a slip up the thigh, revealing the lacy top and the line of the suspender, way before you reach anything more indecent.
Yup, I reckon aesthetics have a lot to do with it. The suspender belt accentuates the hips in just the right way, emphasising the curves from buttocks to boobs more than a simple pair of lacy french knickers. The stockings themselves smooth the surface of your legs into something eminently touchable, and the suspenders elongate them, making them look like they go on and on. I also reckon there is something about the cheeky suspender over your bottom that makes this a very popular accessory.
