Dressember: Days 8 & 9 December 9, 2010

Day 8 was a day of two dresses – one warm and wooly during the day, and one for the evening when I changed for my date. The date outfit made me feel very sexy, although I have to admit that with this vaguely Natalie Portman style hair and the knee-high boots, I felt a bit stripperish! Marching into town, and freezing my butt off in the process, I was utterly conscious of the leg on show!

And for the date

Day 9 was a funny one. After waking up with a bit of a hangover, I realised I had no lift to work – and after some panicking I eventually got into work for 10! Such a silly billy, that’s me. The outfit was vintagey, and if I am totally honest I didn’t actually wear the hat in the end – but for the sake of the photos I thought I would put it on! hehe!

Dressember Day 7 Orange & Blue

Day 7

I loved today’s outfit – what would be a party dress, combined with a blue jumper and stockings. It was a lovely opportunity to break out my suspender belt, and try out these knit vintage stockings. There is nothing that makes me feel as sexy as stockings and suspenders, and the stockings were warm too. An added bonus!

As for the weather, well that was anything other than warm. The drive to work was like something out of the most clichéd of Christmas cards. Every branch hung heavy with  thick ice crystals, and  birds movements in the branches above would dislodge a glittering tumble of ice gems  to dust the car like sugar on a cupcake. The air was pale and misty too, and the overall effect wasn’t far from being trapped in a glowing bubble of whiteness, blocking your vision every way you turned.

OK, I have a confession to make guys. There is no photo for Day 5. I went to the Clothes Show, and cleverly managed to take my camera sans memory card. The result was me happily carrying around extra weight, whilst the card sat in my laptop at home. I haven’t come back to the house until today, so I am in my Day 6 outfit! For those who care, I wore a little blue slip,  with my wonderful baggy white short over the top, and little heeled trainers.

Today’s dress is a beauty, a vintage 80’s velvet creation with a green chevron that is really flattering. I love it! I also like the cloak as it makes me feel both simultaneously like Robin Hood and Batman. And you have to admit that that is a very cool idea! I have to admit to spending most of today in a caffeine haze however, running around flapping the cloak like wings. Yup, I’m that cool.

Dressember Day 3 What I wore

Dressember Day 4 What I Wore

Day 4

Your Dressember update day 3 and 4. My day three outfit was really fun, and I updated it for the evening with a cute red cardi, and some little red polkadot heels.  We went out for a fabulous South Indian meal at a reasonably new restaurant in town, Kayals. The company was, as always, fabulous, and the food surpassed all expectations too. Suffice to say that I didn’t have to add any salt, it was that well-flavoured – and y’all know how much I like my sodium chloride!

Today’s outfit wasn’t such a success. It didn’t really work, and looked awful most of the day, still my new haircut made up for it – pictures to follow. I was meant to be hugging cats this afternoon – acting as a volunteer in Coventry to socialise cats ready for adoption. However, crap trains being delayed meant I came home =- and I currently making my crush on David Duchovny worse by watching X Files. Different to hugging cats, certainly!

Day 2

Day 1 and 2 of Dressember. It has been mightily cold, and so I have to admit to disliking the feeling of slipping into a freezing cold dress first thing in the morning. In fact, I have given up and done that dreaded thing – time setting the heating so that I don’t have to leave my warm bed into the frigid arctic.

Still days 1 and 2 have gone well, so bring on the other 29!! Remember to sponsor me though to help me raise some cash for Depression Alliance!
